The fact inversion, just what is it?
The Associated Press reports:
"It is rooted in the formula of potent propaganda through the ages: Say it loud, say it often, say it with the heft of political power behind you, and people will believe. Once spread by pamphlets, posters and word of mouth, now spread by swipe of finger, the result is the same: a passionate, unquestioning following."
The fact inversion is an effective means of messaging for certain Republicans wishing to retain or gain power. With the effective use of social media, people can invert facts changing them from truth to fiction. Recently, there has been an effort by some Republicans to characterize the events of January 6 as being peaceful and patriotic. This is a prime example of fact inversion.
Another example of fact in inversion arises from the Arizona vote recount. Take for example, the false claim that vote counts were wiped from the Arizona server counting ballots. This "fact inversion" is simply not true. The vote counting server is not connected to the Internet. It cannot be remotely hacked. Moreover, there is no evidence that it was wiped clean or that it was hacked by anyone. Additionally, there was no malicious hardware or software installed on this election management system.
This fact inversion is created from an unrelated incident involving a download from another computer wholly unrelated to the election management system counting ballots. The unrelated voter registration computer was connected to the internet and contained public data for the voter registration. This hack did not influence the election or legal voting.
The fact inversion takes the two servers and flips them. The allegation is based upon an unauthorized data download that has been investigated and resolved not a hack changing votes.
Republicans are using fact inversion as a strategy to fool what they believe to be an unsuspecting, and unsophisticated public - people who will believe anything that these Republicans put out there. Therefore, they say it loud and they say it often using social media
with the goal of gaining total control.
